1. What We Record

All Math Roots tutoring sessions are recorded. This includes:

• Video recording of the session (including participants' video feeds)
• Audio recording of all verbal communication
• Chat logs and messages sent during the session
• Transcripts generated from the audio recordings

2. Purpose of Recording

Session recordings serve two purposes:

• Quality Assurance: To monitor and improve our instructors' teaching quality.
• AI Development: To create a dataset that will be used to train and develop a commercial AI math tutoring application. This is a core part of Math Roots' business model and mission.

3. How Your Data Will Be Used

Your session data will be used to:

• Analyze patterns in effective math instruction
• Train machine learning models to recognize student questions and provide appropriate explanations
• Develop and refine AI-powered tutoring features
• Improve our overall educational methodology

4. Data Protection Commitments

• No PII Sharing: We will not share personally identifiable information (names, recognizable images, or voice recordings) with any third party.
• Internal Processing: AI training is conducted internally by Math Roots. Raw recordings are not sold or licensed to outside companies.
• Anonymization: Where technically feasible, we will anonymize data before using it for model training (e.g., using transcripts rather than audio, redacting names from text).
• Secure Storage: All recordings are stored securely with access limited to authorized Math Roots personnel.

5. Your Rights

• Access: You may request to view recordings of sessions involving your child.
• Withdrawal: You may withdraw this consent at any time by providing written notice to Math Roots. However, withdrawal of consent will result in termination of tutoring services, as data collection is integral to our program. Data collected prior to withdrawal may continue to be used as described herein.

6. Consent Acknowledgment

By checking the consent box during enrollment, I acknowledge and agree to the following:

• I am the parent or legal guardian of the enrolled student.
• I understand that all tutoring sessions will be recorded (video, audio, and chat).
• I consent to Math Roots using these recordings to develop and train a commercial AI math tutoring product.
• I understand that this consent is required for enrollment and that withdrawing consent will end my child's participation in the program.
• I have read and understand the Math Roots Privacy Policy.
